Root’s mission is to provide the decarbonisation infrastructure for the food and beverage supply chain

Food and beverage processors face increasing pressure to decarbonise from downstream customers, regulators, and financial institutions. However, unlike other industries, the vast majority of carbon emissions in the agricultural supply chain originate from farms. These emissions – known as Scope 3.1 emissions – are difficult to measure and reduce.

Root was founded in 2022 to solve this unique challenge. We were the first platform in the industry to enable farm-level emissions data collection – validated, and at scale. Now, we’re working with dairy, crops and red meat processors of all sizes across Europe, helping them to advance their climate strategies.
