What is Root’s approach to including farmers in supply chain decarbonisation?

At Root, we believe that farmers should have a say in climate action – because it has a significant effect on their farm and their livelihood. Our tailored farm action plans, based on the farm activity data collected for Root’s emissions assessments, provide several optional suggestions to farmers. Farmers can select the measures which are feasible for them, while farm technicians can rely on granular activity data and emissions insights to provide customised support to each farm.

Does Root sell carbon credits or offsets outside of the value chain?

No – Root does not sell carbon credits. All of our emissions reduction solutions are designed for emissions reduction within your value chain.

How does Root provide assurance that collected data is credible enough to use for reduction?

Root offers the highest data quality of any farm-level emissions calculation solution on the market. By working with leading methodology partners and integrating extensive data validation techniques, we ensure that emissions data collected with Root is credible and usable for supply chain reduction.
